Happy Valentine’s Day

I am usually a bit of a bah humbug when it comes to Valentines Day, it is just far too commercialized a day for my liking.  Those dozen red roses or Hallmark cards just don’t seem authentic enough.

So I was delighted to read this poem written in 1979 for the writer’s sweetheart … a poem that still holds true today. To be honest it made my heart melt.  Check it out on Bushed Pilot Blog.

By the way, I was introduced to the Bushed Pilot blog by my friend Tandi, who tells some great stories herself on her own blog The Song I Live By – stories of living on a houseboat in Yellowknife on Great Slave Lake, just a few hundred kilometers below the Arctic Circle.  It’s a whole other world there.

Worth a look.  I promise you won’t be disappointed with the stories of such adventurous souls!

About Kate Coffey

After 25+ years in the investment management industry, I packed in my job and spent 2014 living and working in Nepal and Bangladesh, and visited some other places in between. It took me on a journey I did not expect, had me fall in love with Nepal and it's people, and become inspired at the work of Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC) located 2 hours east of Kathmandu in the Sanga foothills. Since 2014, I have continued my warm relationship with SIRC and worked closely with my friends there in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquakes to date. This blog initially started out as a travelogue of sorts to keep friends and family worldwide updated while I was off on my travels in 2014. Since then it has morphed into a life story of the many places I have lived and worked and of the wonderful people I have met along the way. I hope you enjoy.

Thanks, Kate: I hope you have a nice day. I was there on Friday and yesterday but saw the forecast and beat a retreat before the deluge really got underway – direct connection to the bus in Horseshoe bay, unbelievably! Take good care, Bill
